Since March 2014, Prof. Knut Asmis, Professor of Physical Chemistry, has been teaching and conducting research at the Wilhelm Ostwald Institute for Physical and Theoretical Chemistry. His research interests include the study of isolated clusters, nanoparticles, and fluid interfaces in the context of ion solvation, aerosol formation, and catalysis, among others. The ultimate goal is to bridge the knowledge gap between isolated nanoscale aggregates and condensed heterogeneous matter.
