From July 14 to 19 2024, the 18th International Congress on Catalysis (ICC) was held after an involuntary hiatus during the corona pandemic in the previous years. Over the 6 days of the congress, more than 2200 participants from every domain of catalysis and all around the world met in Lyon, France, to discuss the recent developments in catalysis, highlight their research or network on an international level within the picturesque city. Dr. Michael Goepel and Michael Liebau from Universität Leipzig had the opportunity to join the event.

Dr. Michael Goepel presented his research in the form of a poster titled “Understanding Defect Engineering in Lanthanum-Doped NaTaO3 for Cocatalyst-Free Overall Photocatalytic Water Splitting”.

Together with his colleagues from the project NFDI4Cat, Michael Liebau displayed the developments in research data management in catalysis-related sciences at one of the numerous conferences booths.

The next ICC will be held in Kyoto in 2028. We are looking forward to join one of the largest conference again in Japan.
