Pomodoro Mondays
We are all constantly busy: Analyzing data, writing the next paper, preparing lectures, and so on. On our Pomodoro Mondays in February, a tomato helps us get the week off to a productive start.
The Pomodoro technique (Italian: Pomodoro = tomato) is a simple method for effective time management. Working time is divided into smaller, pre-set work and break intervals. By strictly separating work and scheduled breaks, the technique contributes to better concentration, motivation and satisfaction. It helps when working on a large project where there seems to be never-ending tasks. The creator of the technique, Francesco Cirillo, used a tomato-shaped kitchen clock to measure the time units, which is where the name "pomodoro technique" comes from.
During our Writing Month, we would like to invite you to Villa Tillmanns to work together according to the pomodoro principle. Please plan to arrive at the villa at 9:15 a.m. so that you can familiarize yourself with the place and the other participants over a cup of tea or coffee. After a short round of briefing and introductions, we will always start punctually at 9:45 with the first Pomodoro. We will work together in a highly concentrated manner for a total of 200 minutes until 3:15 p.m. - with plenty of time to eat together, exchange ideas and network during the breaks. You will be surprised how much you can achieve in a short period of time when distractions are eliminated during the working session.
