February in the Graduate Academy Leipzig
Writing Month
New year, old plans: Continue writing your dissertation, finally finish it or just get started. In the Writing Month of the Graduate Academy Leipzig, you can put your good intentions into practice: Throughout February, the Graduate Academy Leipzig is offering workshops, writing advice and assisted writing for those interested in doing a doctorate, doctoral researchers and early postdocs of our university.
Every Monday, we start the week productively with our Pomodoro Monday. This writing day is divided into small units using the Pomodoro method for effective time management. We facilitate informal writing in a quiet place every Friday as part of the Co-Writing Space. In between, there are various workshops on the topic of writing throughout the month: on exposé writing, on academic writing in the humanities and in the natural and life sciences, on style and expression, on dealing with artificial intelligence in academic writing and on overcoming writer's block in the Writing Sprints. All members can also apply for an individual one-hour writing coaching session to discuss their personal writing process, the work setting and emerging texts and to plan their future writing individually.
Villa Tillmanns will thus be a place for collaborative writing on publications, chapters, text passages and for exchanging ideas with other doctoral researchers, being productive and relaxing together during the Writing Month. We will provide snacks, coffee and tea during breaks, lunch can be brought along, heated in the kitchen and eaten in the meeting room.
Registration
Pomodoro Monday and the Co-Writing Space are open to all those interested in a doctorate, doctoral researchers and postdocs at Leipzig University without prior registration. For all other events, registration always opens one month before the start of the event.
